Pedro Arrupe footbridge, safe, attractive linear lighting

Located in an exceptional setting next to the famous Guggenheim Museum, the Pedro Arrupe footbridge elegantly crosses Bilbao’s beautiful river. Once the sun sets, this architectural landmark’s new lighting enhances the scope and beauty of its design. On this occasion, the Tao Lighting Studio team worked with Lluria to create a nocturnal environment that invites you to explore the city from a new perspective.

Captivating landscape

The warm light amplifies the qualities of the wood finishes and lends a vibrant energy to this remarkable walkway and meeting place. Lluria’s luminaires and linear systems elevate the presence of the architectural piece to a new visual level that’s totally captivating. A lighting design and scheme that’s coherent with its surroundings, transforming the landscape but at the same time preserving the city’s identity.

Safety and elegance

The lighting for this outdoor space isn’t designed just to look good but also plays a fundamental role in ensuring the safety of the people using it. The new lights on the Pedro Arrupe footbridge mark out the route, indicate the height of the handrail and illuminate the ramps and stairs, enabling pedestrians to cross the bridge safely.

LUXEL: protection and uniformity

Lluria’s LUXEL LED strip has been used to achieve this fantastic degree of uniform lighting. Compatible with the ST31 surface profile, LUXEL IP67 is extremely resistant to water and humidity as well as easy to install. A highly efficient, multi-power model, also available in RGB and RGBW versions.

Committed to good light

At Lluria we’re proud to be involved in projects that seek to transform and enhance urban environments. Our commitment to good light means that we strongly support the talent of lighting designers. With a professional but personal approach, we provide all kinds of innovative solutions to highlight architecture both efficiently and sustainably.
