Situated in Girona, the AWL Airas Wang de Lafée Art Gallery has hosted an intriguing lighting intervention, created by La Invisible studio under the direction of designer María Güell. With a contemporary approach, the project utilises Lluria’s linear systems to enhance both the displayed artworks and the overall ambience of the space.
One system, endless possibilities
At the heart of the project is Lluria’s ST15 profile. This choice addresses the need for a versatile environment adaptable to both the exhibition’s nature and the various events and conferences held there. The tubular, minimalist design of the profile integrates subtly into the architectural surroundings, maintaining visual coherence and allowing the artistic content to take centre stage.
Uniform light
The ST15 profile by Lluria delivers diffused lighting with a wide 150-degree beam angle. This feature eliminates harsh shadows, which is crucial in an exhibition setting where uniform light ensures that the artworks can be appreciated in detail, without glare or unwanted contrasts.
Lightweight and ethereal
Suspended by nearly invisible steel cables, the system adds a sense of lightness to the space. The lines of light seem to float in the air, creating a visual experience that reinforces the perception of an open and fluid gallery, where light plays a fundamental role without being intrusive.
Continuous and uninterrupted
The ST15 profile’s ability to extend up to six uninterrupted metres has been a key factor in the design of this project. This feature allows large surfaces to be illuminated with a single line of light, eliminating the need for interruptions that could compromise the system’s aesthetics or functionality.
