Located on Barcelona’s emblematic Passeig de Gràcia, the iconic Tapa Tapa preserves the essence which redefined the concept of tapas back in 1993. Three decades later, the original venue reborns with a contemporary interior design where lighting shapes and reinterprets its character, now warmer, more open, and inviting.
Structure and hierarchies
The project is articulated through a combination of contour lighting, diffuse light, and direct light that organize the interior architecture. Various linear layers integrated behind mirrors, shelving, and furniture redefine the volumes and add a pleasant sense of depth. Each plane of light establishes hierarchies and reinforces the harmony of the space.

Materiality
One of the most expressive resources is the grazing light over the brick walls. This unidirectional wash runs along the continuous bench, revealing the texture of the material and creating a soft gradient that conveys calm and visual comfort. Lluria’s linear profiles with opal diffusers provide a uniform, glare-free light, creating a balanced atmosphere that enhances the texture and materiality of the space.

Light vibrations
Light is integrated into the shelving to highlight decorative objects and produce soft reflections that add a subtle sparkle to the scene. This plane introduces gentle dynamism that balances the overall composition and ultimately defines the character and image of the restaurant.

A common language
At the bar, Lluria’s linear systems are concealed to wash the slatted wooden surface with light. Meanwhile, surface-mounted profiles integrated into niches and work areas provide the necessary illuminance for kitchen tasks. This same lighting language extends to the dining tables through the custom-integrated ST54 profile. The combination of suspended luminaires, decorative wall lights, and linear lighting creates a layered, expressive illumination with remarkable visual depth.
