Bar Vint-i-Quatre: luminous warmth as a spatial language
Bar Vint-i-Quatre: luminous warmth as a spatial language

In the heart of Barcelona’s Eixample district, Bar Vint-i-Quatre – one of chef Carles Abellán’s most recent ventures – reinterprets the aesthetic of classic bars through a contemporary lens. The space combines fine materials such as wood with a variety of fabrics and warm metallic finishes. It is a place where light serves as a unifying element between interior design, perception and emotion, reinforcing the intended identity and presence.

Warm, controlled light

The lighting design uses 2,300 K temperatures to enhance the space’s intimate atmosphere. Overhead, the ST4 profile in a black finish with Mo-13.9 LED strips structures the visual path and ensures uniformity. In the façade openings, ST4 profiles with Mo-9.6 strips heighten the theatrical quality with soft light that balances the contrast between indoors and outdoors.

Sculpting the space

The central bar is accentuated using Elara 14.4 LED strips at 2,300 K, outlining its perimeter with a continuous line. Backlighting beneath the counter creates a floating effect, softening its physical presence and underscoring its sculptural character. In the storage units and entrance cabinet, ST3 profiles with Mo-9.6 optics enable a hierarchical reading of bottles, books and objects, generating layered lighting that enlivens the atmosphere.

Presence without protagonism

Eschewing purely decorative effects, Lluria’s linear systems are subtly, rationally and precisely integrated, prioritising visual comfort, ergonomics and dialogue with the interior architecture. Light is incorporated as another layer of architectural design, in harmony with the material language and the experience the space aims to deliver.

Coherent design

The lighting concept at Vint-i-Quatre creates complex atmospheres through discreet, meticulously integrated technical solutions. This precise and measured approach amplifies the identity of the space, enhances perceptual comfort and reinforces the narrative dimension of this new gastronomic venue.
