The new Sant Joan de Déu teaching campus is an impressive five-story building spread out over 6000 m2 located in an ideal area of Sant Boi del Llobregat, Barcelona. The Expert Line team oversaw the comprehensive furbishing works, while Lluria delivered the magnificent lighting project. The result is a dynamic space full of freshness, where light is part of the teaching and social experience.

Dynamic transformation

Distributors are known for their enormous capacity for spatial transformation thanks to the light perimeters that backlight the translucent vertical panels. Their chromatic and dynamic light, achieved by Lluria’s TT19.2 RGBW LED strip, completely transmutes the experience of inhabiting a space with variable scenes that can be programmed according to the annual and school calendar.

Versatility and visual comfort

The classrooms at the Sant Joan de Déu teaching campus have two types of linear lighting: on the one hand, a diffused general lighting was set up through suspended profiles with an opal diffuser that prevents glare while optimising visual comfort for learners. In addition, this modular space has a flexible system that draws and organically runs along the classroom’s acoustic ceiling, to the rhythm of the light programming of the dynamic panels in the corridors.

Lightboxes

The meeting rooms work as transparent light boxes in the interstices of the magnificent teaching building. The combination of functional light on the work surfaces and indirect linear lighting provides uniformity and an excellent harmonious atmosphere. Meanwhile, the rhythmic light of the ST3 aluminum profiles in the transition spaces produces glimmers and reflections that evoke an interesting sense of movement.
